Oakridge Oregon

Two times every year Oakridge Oregon is invaded by mountain bikers, this is called Mountain Bike Oregon. This year Sunset Cycles headed down to help with the mechanicals and get some riding in. Myself (Chris) and Aaron went down with our Enduro’s. It’s a 3 day catered (aka free beer) event in about the best location imaginable.

We got in Thus late afternoon, set up shop/camp and started our weekend. We signed up for our Friday ride on “Huckletooth”. Looked pretty easy, not much climbing, technical descents ect.  This was a great ride to start with, 2ish mile fire road climb to some nice single track all the way back. The next day we got on a smaller shuttle that promised to be interesting and well worth it. Lots more driving, but coupled with some of the best trails I have ridden, this is the way to ride in Oakridge! We did about 4-5 trails as the group dropped people every run to mechanicals, injury, or to much fun the night before. The daily totals were about 40 miles and 600ft of climbing, for someone on a 30lb 6″ travel all mountain bike thats about right!

If any of this sounds fun, sign up for MBO here or give Randy a call at Oregon-Adventures and he can set you up. They are a first class operation with first class people. Eric was our driver the second day and if you ride with him he might not let you stop, but he will take good care of you at the end of each trail!

Here are a few pictures we took during the trip. Sorry there are no riding pictures, but not knowing the trails plus a big Dakine camera bag equal bad times if you take a fall. Look for more pictures from our next trip the coming October.
