New Service

Our goal is to get you out on your bike riding. To make this happen we have been streamlining our service department. In addition to taking appointments, so you don’t have to leave your bike with us for an extended amount of time, we are now able to e-mail you when your repair is complete. Just make sure we have your correct e-mail on file and the minute we’re done you’ll receive notification which will include the total cost, and any notes or recommendations we may have. This new feature will also cover electronic copies of sales receipts and special ordering.

We value your privacy and keep your information for our use only. By opting in to the e-mail notification you will receive our monthly newsletter and periodic updates on special events only from Sunset Cycles.

Over the next month we will also be testing out sending text messages for finished repairs. This will only be done if you would like to try it, just let us know.

Closed Memorial Day

Sunset Cycles will be closed on Monday for the holiday. We will be hard at work on the new store on Scholls! Back to regular hours on Tuesday 9:30-7:30.

Enjoy the long weekend!

Allez Comp!

We just got a Allez Comps in. This is one of my favorite bikes this year. Before I rode one I was not sure where they fit in in the 2011 Specialized line up or on the sales floor. After a good ride on one down at Specialized I made sure we had a few on the way to the store, I was very impressed with the package and the price.

-Highlights are-

  • E5 alloy frame with integrated headset and tapered steerer
  • FACT carbon fork with alloy steerer
  • Adjustable 4-position alloy stem with 31.8mm bar clamp
  •  SRAM Apex 10-speed shifters and a 100BCD  52×36 front rings with a 11-28 cassette.
This bike has many features that were in the last run of Aluminum S-Works Tarmacs you still see around.

New Store Update

This will be the first of a few updates we will show you as the new store comes together. This is midway through the sheet rock process, keep in mind this was a brand new building and there is lots to be done in a short amount of time. Next week we start with painting!

Second Store Opening!

Roger Colwell, an Oregon native and owner of Sunset Cycles, LLC has experienced stable growth since opening his store in NW Portland’s Bethany neighborhood in 2003.  That growth pattern is about to change dramatically as Sunset Cycles announces a new location to be added this June at the corner of Scholls Ferry and Barrows Road in SW Beaverton.

The second location stands to build on the model of the Bethany store: Neighborhood location in a growing area, near excellent opportunities for riding, and high-quality brands with top tier service. The Scholls location will be a full-service store selling and servicing all styles of bicycles and offering a selection of popular accessories and tools.  Both stores will feature experienced staff who are friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable.

The excitement of adding a second store with a new personality catering to a new client base is just one of the things they are looking forward to.  The second location will have a product selection chosen specifically for the needs of the area but allow the company to broaden it’s offerings by sharing items between the two stores.  Both locations offer excellent test-riding areas to help you find the perfect bike.

The new store will be located in The Village on Scholls Ferry shopping center at 16305 SW Barrows Road, Suite 200, Beaverton; on the corner with Scholls Ferry Road.  The Bethany store will stay at 15320 NW Central Dr., in Portland.
